Faces of viking Theatre

September 2019: All advanced students performed a monologue, scene, or song as a welcome for the 2019-2020 Viking Theatre school year. The Fall Thespian Induction Ceremony followed.

War at home: Readers Theatre

September 2019:  This year's production class hosted a staged reading of War at Home in the BHS Black Box as well as in partnership with the Arts Council of Brazos Valley in their September 11th memorial exhibit. 

A Taste of Shakespeare: Dinner Theatre

September 2019: A new take on the traditional dinner theatre, students performed scenes from Romeo and Juliet, Much Ado About Nothing, and A Midsummer Night's Dream. The performance was accompanied by a string quartet from Viking Orchestra. Proceeds benefited the Viking Theatre Scholarship Fund.

Classics  with  character

October 2019: This year's Black Box show focused on comedy and gave an example of "theatre in repertory", including two one-act plays: The Importance of Being Earnest and The History of Tom Jones. Classics with Character was generously sponsored by Beyond IT Forensics.

A  Christmas  Carol: The  Live  Radio  Play

December 2019:  For the second year in a row, Viking Theatre brought a live radio play to the historic Queen Theatre in Downtown Bryan. This year we had two casts for both A Christmas Play and the show opener The Elf that Ruined Christmas.​ A Christmas Carol​ was generously sponsored by Caprock ER.

hairspray, the musical

January 2020: In conjunction with Bryan High School Choir, Viking Theatre started rehearsing Hairspray in November, and the spring musical was a hit. Proceeds were also raised toward the Viking Fine Arts Scholarship Fund. Hairspray was generously sponsored by The Gracely Family Foundation.

Magic in the mountain: UIL One Act Play

March 2020: An original play by our very own lead director Jacob Justice, Magic in the Mountain was our spring UIL One Act Play. Workshops began in the fall of 2020 with table reads by senior students. Magic in the Mountain competed at Zone in early March walking away with Best Overall Technical Crew and four individual awards.
