Join us this spring for either of our UIL One Act Play clinics hosted at the Bryan ISD Performing Arts centers. There are two dates/clinicians to choose from, 10 slots available in total. Your clinic session will last a total of 3 hours with load in, performance, and critique. A full unit set will be provided. Chairs available upon request.

Steps to Register:

At the Clinic:
1. You will have one hour to load into a holding room. We will have dressing rooms available if students need to get ready. 2. You will have 50 minutes for set up and perform, and 10 minutes to strike to your bus. (Note: There is no rehearsal period) 3. You will have a 50 minute critique. 4. The cost for Feb. 8 has dropped to $150. *Please write all checks to Viking Theatre Booster Club. Payment is due by January 31, 2020. |

About the CLINICIANS
MICAH GOODING
Micah is Director of Theatre at Kilgore College. He earned his Acting MFA with distinction from East 15 Acting School in London, where he completed a residency with Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre and became certified with the British Academy of Dramatic Combat. He is also certified with recommendations from the Society of American Fight Directors. He holds his double BA in Theatre and Visual Art from Stephen F. Austin State University. Micah has an all-level Theatre educator certificate and has lead students to the state level of UIL One Act Play and Prose & Poetry competitions. He has acted, directed and puppeteered professionally in commercial, voice over, film, and stage productions in the United Kingdom, India and across the United States. LAUREN UFKES
Lauren is a touring actress with the Texas Shakespeare Festival Roadshow. This past Summer she performed with the Texas Shakespeare Festival as Blanch in King John, Maria in Loves Labours Lost, and Rowena in The Lovely Stepsister. Lauren is a graduate from the University of Houston with an MFA in Acting, and a BFA from Western Michigan University. For more, visit LaurenUfkes.com. BILLY DRAGOO
Billy taught at Granbury High School and Bowie High School in Arlington before coming to Austin High in the fall of 1993. Mr. Dragoo earned a BFA from The University of Texas in 1987 and a Master of Arts from The University of London in 1990. In the summer of 2002, Mr. Dragoo was granted a scholarship to study at the Globe Theatre in London. He has directed more than 117 shows in his career. Among his favorites are Equus, The Secret Rapture, A Flea in Her Ear, Anna in the Tropics, Juno and the Paycock and Someone Who'll Watch Over Me. He and his students at have appeared at the UIL One Act Play State Meet ten times. While teaching at Austin High, he has three times been named “Teacher of the Year” -- in 1997 and 2003 and 2011. In 2012 he won the "UIL Sponsor Excellence Award". In 2013, he was named "Inspirational Theatre Educator of the Year" by the Educational Theatre Association, and in 2014, he was named "Texas Education Theatre Associations' K-12 Theatre Educator of the Year". |
